To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I submit this letter of unequivocal recommendation for Ms. Sophia Tabaroki.   From 2003-2007, Ms. Tabaroki worked as my son’s coach/tutor, when he was in 7th and 8th grade.   Her role was more akin to an educational therapist, as my son has specific learning challenges, which required more or less daily assistance with academics, as well as interfacing with teachers when necessary.  Ms. Tabaroki spent several hours weekly tutoring my son, while carrying a heavy academic load at the University of Southern California.  Impressively, she was able to manage it all quite successfully.

There are insufficient superlatives available to describe Ms. Tabaroki’s intelligence, her character and diligence; but I will try.  As revealed in her academic transcript as well as in her self -presentation, Ms. Tabaroki is a highly intelligent, self assured, warm and gifted young woman.  Her particular passions lie in the areas of mathematics and science; and it has been quite impressive to witness her skill and patience as she explained complex concepts in both of these subject areas to my son.  Ms. Tabaroki is motivated, conscientious and reliable.  In fact, I cannot think of one incident in the years of working for our family, where she was late or had to unexpectedly cancel. And, for those one or two occasions where there were scheduling conflicts, Ms. Tabaroki always provided back-up coverage.  Her dedication to her work was exemplary.  Not only is Ms. Tabaroki gifted in the area of academics, but also she is a talented athlete -- a “star” basketball player – and was an assistant coach for a high school team.

Aside from loving the sciences, Ms. Tabaroki is truly a “people person” and is devoted to being of service to others.  She has volunteered at Los Angeles County – USC hospital as a research assistant and a physicians’ shadow.  This opportunity provided her with a rich experience interfacing with patients of diverse ethnicities, who present with a variety of problems.
I have no doubt that Ms. Tabaroki emanated self-assuredness, calmness, empathy and professionalism.

And so, it is without reservation that I highly recommend this outstanding woman.  She will be an asset to any organization.

Very truly yours,

Bonnie Berman, Ph.D.
